Default ARP Flywheel bolts

Hi guys,

i'm in the middle of a clutch change and i have a question.

I purchased some ARP flywheel bolts and it says i need to install them with either ARP lube or 30W motor oil and torque up in one go.

does everybody follow this procedure and is it safe to use these without applying threadlock?

I used the same bolts. When I gave my mechanic the threadlock he said he didn't need it as the ARP bolts had the locker in the finish. So he didn't use the threadlocker.

from what i can see, there is definately no locker in those bolts.

The included manual states not to use shims and torque to 75ft/lbs when lubed with motor oil and 60ft/lbs with ARP lube. I do not trust flywheel bolts without threadlock!

I torqued them first to 45ft/lbs and finally to 70ft/lbs with normal locktite on the threads and a dab of motor oil under the head of the bolt.

thanks for the input!

Not sure if the OZ7 clutch has the same issue however, the ExoSkel you MUST use GM flywheel bolts. Might be worth looking into.
