Default Check engine light

Hi guys

Was out for a ride and noticed the check engine light on steady, got home and checked my owners manual, it said if light is on steady and not flashing it is an emissions problem.
I checked for codes and there where only history codes so I reset them, started car again in garage and the check engine light was not on, haven't taken it for a ride again so not sure what will happen. 2003 6 steed vette, any ideas?
Thankls Ron

May be the O2's acting up. Good to see somone actually reading there owners manual. Next time post the codes anyway to give us a direction to head in if the problem reoccurs.

Default Spell check

To bad some people find it more fun being critical rather than helpfull, it would be great if all of us vette owners could help each other as we all own amazing cars.

Not sure on what type of warranty you have but most warranty's ive been under cover emmsion and elecrical components. If your car is mostly stock than hell YES, if the dealer covers it(call and ask), take it to them.

I'm surprised no one has pointed you in this direction.

Here you go:

http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm

This web page will show you how to check the codes and determine if they are current (C) or historic (H).
It will also show how to clear them.

I have a frequent 1416 code that I just clear when it pops up.

Default Codes

Thanks Rob for the info. I got simular info. on the forum about how to check codes but I had to us my books to look them up, what you sent is very handy with all the codes in one place, I can stick that in my car for future us.

Default Went for a ride

Hi Guys

Finally went for a ride, did not get check engine light this time but of course some other grimlin came up again, the fuel gage went to zero again, that was a different thread but it did it again, back to more tectron treatments and hope that solves the problem.
The first few years I had trouble free driving but lately it's one issue after another but so far nothing big as I don't abuse the car to much, 2003 six speed.
