TCS: Still Seeking Answers
The TCS on my '98 coupe doesn't seem to follow the rules of behavior outlined in the owners' manual. When it kicks in (which it does easily; I have nearly 800 RWHP), instead of momentarily cutting power, it puts the car in "reduced power" mode. To return to normal operation, I have to turn the engine off for ~10 seconds and restart. This is both dangerous and embarrassing.

How do you think TC works, all the car can do it detrottle, take out timing and try to apply brakes to the drive wheels. Do you have the button to turn it off? You may as well leave it off all the time with that kind of HP at the wheels and learn to drive old school.

I (of course) do have the "TCS off" button, but having stuffed my last car, a Vortech blown 383 Camaro into a ditch through a combo of too much enthusiasm and cold tires, I'd like to have a little technical oversight.
I am looking into the Racelogic TC system, which is both adjustable and doesn't put you into 25 RWHP mode.

I suspect the computer gets confused when it reduces power an amount it expects will work and yet you're still spinning. As already posted, a good tuner should be able to adjust the TC tuning to help.
