i pulled these codes.
my car isnt starting it does the one click and doesnt even turn over. the starter was recently replaced. i wanna say its the battery but all the lights/radio all works when i turn the ignition on. i dont think i could be an alternator if my battery still have juice..
what could it be that my car wont start? could it be a loose wire or something?
I agree with 8Vette7 totally. If you find all those connections clean and tight, its very possible that your starter solenoid has died in which case, use a mallet on it and see it the car will start. If so, then you need a new solenoid.
yeah i just talked to my friends dad (head mechanic at a gm dealership) he mentioned both check the connection and tap siloniod (spell) do you tap it with someone pushing clutch i think he said right? and try starting as you tap?
so i bought a new battery and unfortunatly looks like its probably the starter or silinoid. im just hoping its not a tiny wire somewhere that takes a lot of time and knowledge that i dont have lol
I would clear those codes first and see if any return. Specifically look for the "H" or "C" characters with the codes. The no comms with the PCM and BCM and the BCM 1001 are issues that need to be looked at. Back on the single click, I was assuming you are referring to a single loud click as if coming from the solenoid. If so, then you've got a bad solenoid or really low battery, bad battery connection or etc...
Hi There,
Well one more shot at guess work (batt.& starter) will not hurt.Change your starter solenoid that was the problem to begin with.Clutch engaged & tap on it with a hammer. If it does turn over replace the s/ solenoid. You should be reading 12v at the s/solenoid wire.

thanks guys i appriciate the help!
so i did replace the battery, decided to call the local gm dealer to see what they charge because im very busy. $400! are you kidding me lol
any ways i asked if i could just replace the seliniod and not the starter and thought i was stupid like you cant do that? ive never really messsed with a starter in general. is the seliniod typically connected or apart of the starter?
I don't think you can buy the solenoid seperately, although I saw a post a while back about C5 starters and someone (Bill Curlee?) said that they were able to get one at some kind of electronics place. By the way, if you have to drop the exhaust, break rusty studs, etc. and depending on your mileage, you may want to just replace the starter too. Yes, you used to be able to buy the solenoids seperately for most starters.
