Only if you are comparing the part number, which will be different on a 97-2000, compared to a 2001-2004. There is no "LS6" intake manifold, as the LS1 and LS6 used the same manifold starting in 2001.

The only visual differences are on the bottom side of the 2 different style intakes. The 01-04 has ribs along the bottom, and slightly deeper which interfere with the coolant crossover tubes for guys who change out their 97-00 style manifolds. Some guys remove the tubes or remove some of the ribs when changing over to the newer style. This isn't visible once installed on the car though. Sorry I don't have any photos. Try doing a search for comparisons between the two.

I agree; however, the OP asked about as installed:

HELL YES there is and I can show you this real QUICK!

Heres a LS1 97-2000 intake. Look at the bottom. If it looks like this,,, it an LS1 97-2000:

If the bottom to the manifold is FLAT,, it a late model ZO6 style. :

The part number is molded on the face/top side in between a couple of the injectors. My car is in winter storage so I'm not sure which side it's on, but it's in the middle. Beauty covers may need to come off to see it too. The newer 2000-2004 intake part number ends in 3572, if I remember correctly. With it on I think that's the easiest way to tell the difference.
