2000 Corvette without Catalytic Converters

I recently purchased a 2000 corvette convetible at an auto auction as my personal vehicle. After driving it a short distance the check engine light came on because it has no catalytic converters. They were swapped for straight pipes. I have been disconnecting the battery every couple days to clear the code. Is there a way to trick the computer from acknowledging no converters or do you just live it?

you can have the codes deleted from the system w/a tune. if you live in a stated that requires them for inspection I would put HP cats on. its a big fine in NJ if you don't have them.

Just find somebody that just did long tube headers on a 2000, and offer to buy there stock cats & pipes. Or have the rear O2 sensors turned of with a tune.
