Default Proctect your Lower Radiator Support/Skid plates

Hi Everyone,
Don't miss out on this great price on C5 and C6 Fangs!
Sale ends on the 1st.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...g-stuffer.html

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone,
Whether you call them Skid Bars or Skid Plates sooner or later you are going to hear that horrible sound of metal to concrete on a drive way or parking block. When you do, your going to wish you had a pair of Fangs protecting your Skid Plates. With the Fangs installed most of the time you won’t even know that you rubbed your Bars because the Fang are nearly silent.
The Fangs are made of a High Impact Superior Performance Plastic. The Fangs are extremely impact resistant and 6 times more abrasion resistant than steel.
Fangs eliminate the friction that causes breakage of the lower radiator support, especially on the aluminum C6 support. Installation only takes a few minutes. Being only 1/8" thick you will not even notice any clearance loss. The Fangs give you complete front to back protection so no matter where you scrape your skid bar you are protected. If you scrape, there is none of that horrible metal noise. If you accidentally bump up on a parking curb you will notice the front of your Vette lifting up as it slides up smoothly and smoothly back down when you reverse. When you consider that it cost around $600 to replace the Skid plate/Lower radiator support, at only $54.95 and free shippingto the lower 48 and Hawaii Fangs are a small price to pay to reduce the chance of damaging or breaking your plate/lower radiator support. The Fangs are the best skid plate/lower radiator support protection available. Fangs are also available for your C6 with it's even more fragile aluminum Skid Plates. If your Skid Plates already have some damage, the Fangs can also beautify.

Here is a link to a couple videos of us abusing a pair of white Fangs. As you will see they can take it!

A couple of questions:

1-how will having a lowered C5 affect the performance of the fangs?

2-What do you suggest for Vettes that have something like the Fat Daddy or Mama Rollers attached to the skid plates?

Thanks,

Hi AnteVenom,

The Fangs are perfect for lowered Vettes since you run a even higher risk of scraping your Skid Plates. Also you only loose 1/8 inch of clearance with the Fangs which is much less than the wheels. From the looks of your awesome looking C5 you might be weight conscious. The Fangs only weigh 4oz.
If you decide to install Fangs you won’t need the wheels. The Fangs give you complete front to back protection of your skid plates and they don’t put side load on the skid plate. One of our goals with the Fangs was to keep maximum ground clearance, if you keep the wheels with the Fangs it would defeat that purpose.

Just ordered a pair for my '04, and can't wait to slip them on. Fortunately, I've only got minor scrapes; 2 incidents during the first year of ownership.

Looks to be great insurance against what will inevitably happen again as my wife begins to drive the car more often...

Default Don't Wait!

Hi Everyone,

Your lower radiator support, skid plates, skid bars or what ever you prefer to call them are very vulnerable. Don’t wait until you hit, scrape or damage them. Purchase and install a pair of Fangs. They are a small price to pay for such great protection. Just ask those on the forum that have them. Don’t wait until this happens.

Got my fangs on...

I had wheels all this time thinking I needed them going in/out of my driveway the way front always lifted up rolling on them turning in and out and different angles trying not to scrape. Today did the driveway test many times and not once did the fangs scrape so the wheels hung low enough below cradle support to hit them.
