High Engine Rev

Engine revs 3000 to 4000 RPM's when brakes are hit hard. On a 6 speed 2003.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Check EVERY vacuum line for damage. Especially the PCV vacuum lines. Pull them out and make sure that there nit rotting.

how does the engine idle?? steady or surging??

Bad brake vacuum booster?? Listen for a change in sound around booster when brake is applied.
