Please help with tire selection
. Basically does anyone think a 345R19 will hold 625ish rwhp on the street ?? I'm not worried about the wear rating as long as they stick on the street. Please don't mistake spirited digs onto the highway with silly street racing.
Or am I doomed to have two different wheel/tire combos depending on how I feel like driving ??
I have a home made drag pack setup with Hoosier DR's but they are super sketchy at highway speeds in a curve but with the new quarters (L5) they look funny (sunk in).
The wheels I currently own and would like to run are the 2010 GS 18x9.5 and 19x12.
The tires I've considered in 345/30R19, in this order.
1) Hoosier R6
2) Michelin PSC
3) Nitto Invo's=not that impressed
4) ??
IMHO its a much more difficult to build a dual purpose car. Trailer queens are specific in everyway, unlike all around street cars.
Am I expecting to much from the tire ?? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole heat in the tire deal
.I have a FI setup that will be complete some time in 2011 but if I can't even put down this power....well you get the point.
By the way my clutch is starting to act up
.Does anyone know what tire the C6 ZO6 guys who want traction are running ??
Please let the flaming begin or strong opinions and experiance are also welcome
.

Dope
And yes Dope, I run 17 all around on my drag pack set up, Hoosier DR's 315/35R17 and M&H 26/4.5R17. All on C5Z speedlines (17x9.5 rear/17x4.5 narrowed fronts). They are killer as far as traction is concerned but SUCK for handleing. Thats why I'm looking for the best all around tire, with traction being the first concern and handleing being a close second.
FYI, don't forget I went with L5's, so my original C5Z's are sunk in 2" and thats why I chose C6Z wheels (cheap/light and decent looking).
