Problem solved and you won't believe it. I took off the air intake from the throttle body to clean it and when I looked inside I found a hard rubber band that was used as a spacer for the air intake tube. Here it is in the picture below. It was jammed in there and was not allowing the butter fly valve to operate properly.
Thankfully you found it before it travelled further. I once saw a picture of a fellows car that had ingested BB's. His son had laid a BB speed loader on the intake crossover tube. It wasn't noticed when the tube went back onto the car. Yikes!
As this was a new to you car I wonder if the previous owner was trying to avoid an expensive repair!
I have always reset them by turning the key to the on position and then hold the option button down hit the fuel button four times to get to the menu to manually delete them. Can you the same thing while running?
(don't worry I have thick skin)
Glad you found your prob!!
Just so you know for the future, you CAN do manually delete them while running, and ...driving lol
The loss of communcations codes are all normal and always present since this occurs when the car is turned off and the computers stop talking to each other.
No,,,, its NOT really normal. Ive owned 2 C5 and 2 C6 Corvette and there are ZERO codes normally. When they leave the factory, there are ZERO DTCs. When everything is working as designed, you will NOT have ant DTCs.
