Default Shift know in a 2002 A4

Before I start, anyone know how to change the shift **** on the A4? I remember seeing a link to that one somewhere here before, but can't find it now.

There's a spring clip on the bottom of the front end that holds the **** down, you need to pry it forward and off, then the know should pull up and off. At least that's what I remember from somewhere else, I haven't done it myself.

use an eyeglass flathead screwdriver to pry out the "staple" holding the **** onto the shaft....lift off :)

to use any of the M6 *****, you'll need an adaptor

Apply the E-brake and put the car in neutral to give yourself more room to work. It takes some effort but the small c-clip on the forward side of the **** will come out.
