Got a Hurst billet shifter in my 2001 and a Calloway shifter in my C6 Z06. The Hurst is a tighter, ratchet style shifter where the Calloway is tighter but more smoother. Depends on how you use the car and what you want. I track road race the 2001 so like the Hurst. I road trip the Z06 and like the smoother Calloway shifting.
Bought a C6 Shifter, ****,+ Boot for 90 bux on ebay. Best mod ever(so far)! Will probably end up changing the **** out eventually though because I'm not the biggest fan of how it tilts toward the driver. Still, in terms of feel its an unbelievable difference, and very easy to install.
Much better than the stocker. I have drove a c5 with a short shifter and I couldnt see myself driving like that everyday since the gears were unbelievably close. The c6 shifter feels just right. But of course it all comes down to personal preference.
