Coil Overs Question
I have reviewed Doug Rippie and LG Motorsport versions and wondered at the differences. The cost is not an issue to me.
Questions like: ride height affect, durability and quality are my main concerns. I do not adjust my ride height but do not want to install the coil overs and see my fender wells laying on my tires. I run 18" front and 19" rear on the car.
If anyone experienced with coil overs could spare a few minutes of their time and experience and provide some guidance it would be appreciated.
Thanks

Coilover install

It's settled a tad bit more... I have the shocks roughly mid way so I have alot adjustability up or down.
If you're car is a dedicated track car the G2s would be the weapon of choice I would think. I max my dampening out for the track at 12/11 and run them softer on the street...
What will substantially improve the performance of the car on the track is a good set of shocks, and if you do some reasearch the Penske's are probably the best thing out there. Hardbar has a set of Penske's that you can equip with coilovers or can be used with leaf springs. They aren't cheap, but if you are looking for performance they are probably the best thing out there, even if you were to spend more on some of the higher price setups.
I've see the inside of the Pfadts, and I wasn't impressed. The LG's are based on Bilstein parts so the are basically good shocks too. Don't know enough about the Rippie stuff so I can't comment on them.
If price isn't an object, go with the Penske's, you won't be disappointed.
Google Far North Racing. Dennis Grant has years and years of experience with pro racing teams and knows shocks inside out. Read what he has to say and then make up your mind.
