dude im not trying to pee in your corn flakes here but you need to let this go. you had a bad exp with whoever built your car and its time you do business with someone else. buttom line if you take your car back to this guy and he sticks to his guns and says he didnt do the damage to your car there really isnt anything you can do except be upset about it.
IMHO, "IF" the damage is not too bad then it might be best to cut ties with this shop and move on. The Vette is running good at this point. Find a new shop to deal with now!
If the damage is bad then it's time to get a lawyer and have them get the money for the repairs.
Have someone reputable fix the car and make a determination in writing, as to the failure of the prior work done. You may end up eating that body damage though...your word against his. All you can PROVE is that he did the work to the car and it runs poorly. Your perception may say it's better, but based on the sounds of this guy, it probably still isn't proper.
Now the bad news... I've got a big scrape on the right hand side that is way through the finish and was not there before. I didn't notice it until after I picked up the car and had driven away. ...
Thats where you have nothing on him. As soon as you left his property its anyones blame. i always check around the car before taking delivery of it.
Also, if there was no documented pre-inspection of the body before leaving the car with him, its still your word against his.
It is still worth it to see if he will at least go half on body repair. if he says no then move on...lesson learned.
Okay, so I wrote a very long post explaining all of the reasons that I would not trust Brett Seaberg of XP Racing (owner and sole employee as far as I could tell) to ever work on my car again (yes, I'm finally naming names). It was angry and talked about how much I had been through trying to get my C5 to be a decent car and how after this last "repair" I found the front end damaged only to have Brett deny all knowledge of said damage) and I decided I'd just put it simply... I would highly recommend careful reading of my posts regarding all of the problems I've had with this car (built and tuned by XP Racing) before seriously considering trusting this guy with your own car. My posts speak for themselves and tell a very sad story that I hope no one else will ever have to duplicate. As for me, I wouldn't trust Brett Seaberg of XP Racing in Oklahoma City to work on any vehicle that I own. As for my "silver lining", I've since traded this headache C5 away in favor of a much newer and completely stock C6. While I do plan to do mods to the new car as well at some point, you can be assured that XP Racing will NOT be receiving my business (or the dollars that this work will generate)after the poor workmanship, mishandling and subsequent damage to my C5. I will take my car out of state for any future work before I go back to XP Racing. Individual results may vary, but I would recommend caution in dealing with this place. He only takes cash or check and demands money up front (should have been my first clue as what legitimate business does not have any working capital funds for parts??) and gets the rest before handing over the keys. No matter who you go to, learn from my lesson here..... DO NOT pay anything up front, be clear about what is expected in the work (including timelines and expected completion dates), do a COMPLETE walkaround of your vehicle when you drop it off letting the shop note any damages to the car and do the same when you pick it up....and DO NOT PAY YOUR BILL OFF until you have driven the car extensively in daily driving situations to be sure that it is running as you expected it to run after your work. Lastly, if you have a hp rating being claimed from some work, watch the dyno run yourself and get documentation. If your builder/tuner promises to get you to "450hp at 410ft/lbs torque" for your hard earned money, explain to him that if it does not meet these requirements, he's not getting paid. Carefully document any problems that you have along the way to use as evidence should it come down to a lawsuit. Just my two cents and hope that my lousy experiences will at least serve to help others and save them some valuable cash. I think it's time we start holding these guys to higher standards if they want our business and our money. I work too hard for the things I have to let some idiot treat them with little regard or respect. Anyone wanting any further specific details about the problems I've had with this guy, pm me and I'll be happy to provide them. Caveat emptor apparently applies to services as well as goods. So, as a "buyer".....keep this in mind. Cheers...
Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat is the official color name and it was first available that year. Now, I'm normally a black on black kinda guy (all of my cars are always black), but this color with the beige leather interior just blew me away! All of the power and sexy lines, but just a little something extra with this color. I really like it. I'm not a fan of the typical "Ferrari" kind of red, but I really liked this the minute I saw it.
