About 6 months ago I replaced my 2004 base suspension shocks with 35K miles on them with 2010 C6Z06 shocks. I had posted some negative results a couple months back from my initial experience with these shocks. I had posted in response to others asking if these shocks were harsh. While I did post that they were not harsh but a little to firm for me, I have reconsidered this after more extensive driving. These shocks will fool you. While they are firmer then my base suspension shocks they handle bumps and rough roads much better. By that I mean smoother. There are several roads with rough spots that I have noticed this on in the past couple months. For example there is a wash board worn road I traveled with the base suspension shocks and my wife's 2008 Santa Fe with only 19K miles and it shook both cars and is rough. With the C6Z06 shocks there is none of that shake or roughness. I guess this is what is called rebounding of the shocks? There is another spot we travel where they have installed patches of brick about 12' long in 4 places along a smooth asphalt road to slow traffic near a restaurant for pedestrian traffic. With my base suspension shocks it was very harsh over these portions of the brick patches. With the C6Z06 shocks theses spots are not harsh at all and the Vette is much more composed. It is an amazing difference you may not notice until you hit these "rough" spots that you previously experienced with the base shocks. Of course the much reported advantage of controlling wheel hop making turns on rough road is immediately noticeable and I reported that on my initial impression of these shocks. So, long story short they are a worthwhile expenditure and one you can DIY using the zip tie method posted on the forum.

I saw SIGNIFICANT improvements in handling and ride thru washboard turns and rough roads. The car no longer felt like it was going to skidder off the road. I cant find anything at all to complain about!
There a EXCELLENT bang for the buck shock improvement!
I will be putting Bilstein Customed Valved Shocks on my Z06 sometime in May. It is a group buy on the forum that I am waiting to be built and delivered. I will be selling my stock Z06 shocks at that time. I presently have 7600 miles on them. If anyone thinks they may be interested, please send me a pm. Craig04C5 can vouch for me.

Anyone w/ previous wheel hop problems on an aggressive launch or burnout feel the c6z06 shocks improved that as well?
I've got 60k on what I assume are stock 02 Z06 shocks and was hoping this upgrade will improve matters concerning wheelhop when launching. Everything else will be gravy if it clears that up. I already have nearly new tires so I was thinking shocks as the likely issue...
I had BAD BAD BAD wheel hop in my base suspension 98 MN6 Coupe but Ive never had many issues with hop in the 02 ZO6. Shocks will NOT eliminate hop but if you have bad hop, it may lessen the events.
The C5 ZO6 suspension may have made the difference but with the up-graded C6 Shocks it feels more stable than ever.

How did those black stripes get there. Looks like paint or something?
