Bought a set of ACA's last August, putting off installing and then my exisiting HID's in stock housings had a ballast fail. I installed the ACA's with the regular bulbs that came with the ACA's and they work great. I used the wiring harness that came with the set which runs over to the positive terminal in the B+ battery post and to ground. This harness apparently is what allows the high and low beams to be on simultaneously.
I ordered new ballasts and tried to install the HID's tonight and can't get them to work.
I pulled the plug off the back of the low beam bulb and plugged that connector into the input of the ballast and the lights won't come on.
Anyone have a suggestion on what I'm doing wrong. Somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind I remember something about the input to the ballast, if it was reversed and not plugged in correctly, would keep the unit from firing. HELP!
BTW - I put the bulbs back in that came with the ACA's and they work okay so I didn't break anything.

More than likely it is what you thought. The connection needs reversed. You can either reverse it at the ballast or at the connector (low beam) on the wiring harness.
Also be sure you have good pos and neg connections.
Is it just one headlight that won't work or is it both? I had the same problem with one light and was sure it was the ballast. After troubleshooting I found the problem was the resistor for lowering the buckets went bad. I removed the resistor and the light worked fine. Hope this helps...Good luck bro!
