That is very cool but aren't you worried about any paint chips that may com eoff and possibly harm your MAF? That would be my only concern.
Isn't that what the filter is for???

Where did you buy the tubing from? Also, what is the diameter? Any tricks to attaching it to the grill inserts?

Co_Sledge,

The ducting was puchased at Lowes in the power tools area. I believe it is used for large shop vacums and is 4" diameter. It is actually connected thru the factory plastic pieces that block the opening down there. First I cut oval shaped holes using a Roto-Zip and smush the duct thru. If the hole is cut closely it is very tight. I put a couple of short pan head screws, 1 up and 1 down to make sure. The Zo6 screens are just to cover and improve looks. I would show pictures of that area, but I am holding Zo6 screens on with wire ties. I would have to dissasemble to access and would be a hassle.

Wow. Very  I hate to copy someone else's idea, but that is deffinently the coolest intake I have seen. Now I have to get the Vortex.

If I may ask, how did you go about installing the ducts? Did you put them in from the top or come up from the bottom? Also, how do you remove the trim pieces around the fog lights to make the cuts?

Thanks!

Thanks WildKarrde,

To mount to the air box I cut round holes and used 4" pvc threaded plumbing pieces. I cut the threads short so there would be plenty of filter clearance and cut down the threaded female recieving piece to make a ring that would lock it down from the inside of the box. With these pieces mounted the duct fits snuggly over 4" pvc at box.
The radiator shroud was remove to squeeze the ducts thru and compress them in the right spot.
Lastley the plastic covers down front are removed with three nuts. Lower black cover piece by removing series of screws across the front and feel your way from there (very tight up in there). Some say it helps to remove headlight cover piece but didn't help me.
P.S. Start at the fog light area with both ducts mounted leaving extra ducting headed upwards, then replace radiator shroud (very tight fit) then cut ducts to length to fit air box. I did cut the shroud as well for the normal vortex application.

Good Luck,

Tod :seeya
