I had seen this done by another forum member so I tried it with my own personal twist. I painted the interior of the clear box to match the car.The duct work goes from the air box the the fog lite area thru Zo6 screens. I have nothing else to guage it against except for stock, but it seems to work very well.
That is very cool but aren't you worried about any paint chips that may com eoff and possibly harm your MAF? That would be my only concern. Again, it does look tough as hell :yesnod:
I have my 02 Vert set up the same way, and it seems to work just fine. I had a 01 coupe with the Vortex with the shroud cut and I can't tell any difference between the two.
I just went to the Vortex for one reason and one reason only, so I could seal off my engine compartment. I had a K&N conical filter and had the fog light shrouds modified to let air in, but I got dust galore under the hood. Your setup looks cool, but I'm sure the dust factor is bad like mine was, and I would think that there would be no discernable HP gain....my .02 cents..
P.S. now I kinda wish I'd bought a clear one and painted it YELLOW!!!.

PoBoy,
The duct work is sealed thru oval holes cut in the factory plastic cover pieces where the fog lights go (no fog lights on mine). It is a sealed unit as if it were only the vortex. No fresh air in engine copartment other than what is allowed from normal factory set up.
Thanks for all the compliments from all...... :seeya
