Squeeking Noises

This may sound like my 2000 C5 coupe (56k) is haunted but I have a squeeking noise in the steering column and one coming from the rear of the car. Very annoying and somewaht embarassing when I have a rider. I think the rear noise could be shocks? No clue on the steering column. Both noises sound a lot like old metal bedsprings getting a good workout. Any ideas would be appreciated.

usually sway bar bushings are a culprit for making noise
