Default C5 Zo6 or C6? Need your help!

Hi,
I recently got caught in a down poor and my 02 Zo6 hydroplaned off the freeway and slammed into a poll. It's totaled. Anyway I'm looking for another Corvette. My question for all of you is if for the same price you could get a 05-06 LS2 C6 Z51 6spd bone stock and no nav and maybe not alot of options or a C5 Zo6 with some nice mods and possibly a supercharger and both under 30k miles which one would you get? Could you give me your Pros and Cons? I drove a C6 z51 today and I wasn't that impressed over my C5 Zo6. My Zo6 was almost stock. Maybe I'm just not used to the C6.
Thanks for your input!

It's a personal choice, but I'd go C6 your looking at around 50 more HP if fully modded (if you intend to mod it) and also the fact that you never have to worry about pop up headlights again... I've seen a lot of C5z's go for 15K and not seen any C6's go for less than around 25.

I've spent the last 6 weeks looking at a LOT of C5's and several 2005 C6's. Yes, you can find some really good deals on the 2005's, but several of the ones I looked at had been victims of "dead batery syndrome". Also, the 2005's appear to have some durability issues with the differentials.

I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. It's a tough choice, but I think I'd still stick with the C5 Z06.

Lemme get this straight - you're trying to decide between a LS2 C6 and a modded/supercharged C5 Z06?
There should be no conflict here... Z06 all the way

Now if it was a LS3 then there would be reason to pause.

I say get a bone stock C5Z06 I dont like the C6 Look to much its just my .02 like the post before me said if it were a LS3 C6 then mabey my C5 is AS fast as any Stock C6 even the LS3 but drop a little money on the LS3 and its over the LS3 is the best motor platform to up-grade

From all the info everyone is giving me I think that if I can't get a 08 or newer LS3 I will get a C5Z.

Thanks Everyone for all the great info!

Why don't you post in the C6 section and see what kind of response you get.. I would stay with the C5Z myself.. The C6 is just to Plain Jane to me

LMAO! Ive had had an 85 Coupe, 98 MN6 Coupe, 02 ZO6, 06 C6 Z-51 Coupe and just purchased a 2011 Inferno Orange Grand Sport Vert.

My favorite and preferred car is my 02 ZO6 (02-04 ZO6). The C5 Z for me is road connected, clean body lines and COOL. The 06 Z-51 Coupe was very cool. The C6 HID head lights are 100% better than anything C5 PERIOD! I call the C6 the wifes LEXUS Corvette. Its a very cool platform.

The 2011 Grand Sport Vert is in a league by its self. Very fast and has all the cool most up to date stuff.

I still LOVE my 02 Z.

Do your self a FAVOR. Use your C5 ZO6 experiences and the drive the C6. Go as far as test driving a LS2 and LS3 version and follow your ASSOMETER AND heart. The C6s are cool but, the C5Z has its own uniqueness.

Im sure your wallet and heart will pick one!

Im lucky enough to be able to drive and expieenced both the C5 Z and C6s
