Hey guys i just picked up a stage 6 transmission from rpm and triple disk converter 3600, i guess i am ignorant with the differnece between the 2 as far as the converters are and locking up it is the 9.5 inch vigilante triple disk, Its the one from rpm thats supposed to lock at WOT upto 800 rwhp.. Wondering how this is going to drive with this feature of full lockup at WOT in comparison to stock trans? Basically i am asking what the benefits are of this lockup feature at WOT?

Thanks in advance

Just curious.....how did you make a decision on what to buy, if you did not understand what you were buying...in the first place?

Sounds like a good one, you're gonna like it. The main reason I use lockup at WOT is for a higher dyno number. You can command it to force lockup with something like HPTuners. On my car it's worth over 50rwhp. Otherwise, if you are not commanding it, the computer unlocks it at heavy throttle. You'll also notice the lockup in normal driving, it feels like a firm shift.

You can also wire a switch to force the lockup for other situations. For example, mine is tuned to lock/unlock at 45mph, because I don't like the feel of being locked at lower speeds. I like the lockup for hwy cruising, but prefer being loosy goosey for city. The switch covers weird stuff like climbing at mountain at 30mph (another story) or maybe a glory run at the track.

I got this tip from TJ at RPM...

It's just a switch to ground. You need to ground the tan/black wire in the harness. It should be pin letter, w on the transmission round connector, or the red connector on the pcm in pin 42.
