Default Ported MAF ends.

Hello I'm new to this forum and to corvettes I bought a 2000 m6 coupe a few months ago and I am in the process of doing some bolt ons. I purchased the MAF housing ends from MID AMERICA with directional air foil howerver when I removed the stock one I found what I assume are ported stock ends? What should i do leave the ones it has or install the new ones. The only mods to the car was a hurricane intake and a duct. I would post an image but I cant for some reason

Perhaps a pic would help. I honestly don't know what you are referring to when you say "ported stock ends"...or "MAF housing ends".....unless you are referring to the smooth couplers. Even a link to what you purchased would help.

Need more details on what's already on the car and what you're contemplating on adding. I too think you might be talking about the smooth couplers, but the whole "directional air foil" thing is throwing me off. You didn't buy a Turbonator, did you?

What image hosting site are you trying to use? You need to have the pic uploaded to a service like Flickr, Picasa, Imageshack, Photobucket, etc.

Install an '01-up MAF. You'll need a wiring adapter as it is a 5 pin vs 3 pin, but it is a larger diameter compared to the 97-00

I really doubt I will gain anything compared to what i had but I made the mistake of ordering them before i looked. My next mods are Eibach swaybars and XS power full exaust, after that I'm thinking Cam, ls6 intake and underdrive pully. Any other suggestions

Does any one know if the aluminum ones are stock ported or aftermarket ones? They are on ebay now so if any one wants them.

that is the stock ported housing. I had that on my C5. I dont know if there was much gain but it made me feel better lol.

Stick with the stock ported housing VS the mid america plastic one.

I know that the BOOSTED guys blow the plastic ones apart. Dont know how reliable the plastic ones are. I have some that are made of a hard bakelite plastic that I had on my 98 Coupe. If the aluminum ones are ported just as well, go with the aluminum ones for reliability. The plastic ones are not suppose to conduct as much heat. Thats all I know.
