Default Hayden fan controller

I was thinking of installing a fan controller to get the cooling fans to go on at a lower temp. Am i inviting problems due to the fact that the car was designed to run hotter than many other cars? I have a 1998 vert and was wondering what you guys and gals might think......thanks

Intake screen, too.

My '04 runs no hotter than any of my other cars, and I don't think it was designed to, either.

They do run hotter than most cars . Thats why there are so many requests for info about the hight temps. The main reply is that its nothing to worry about because the cars run higher than others normally.

Gee - I thought the coolant temp was mainly controlled by the thermostat?

The thermostat dictates when the coolant from the block enters the radiator. Changing to a 160 thermostat does not mean the the engine will get no hotter than 160 degrees. It only means that the coolant will enter the radiator at that temp. The 180 degree thermostat allows the coolant to stay in the block till it reaches 180 degrees and so on.. There is a vast amount of info on this forum and everytime i do a search i learn more... Happy new year to all..........
