Default Torque Tube Snap Ring

Posted in the C5 parts section as well, but I'm hoping that someone here may be able to help since I've gotten no response there. I'm looking for the large snap ring on the ZO6 (or later model larger version) torque tube that holds in the propshaft. I know it's a small part, but I really need this to put my car back together. Please let me know if you have one. Thanks.

Looks like this:

Hey Scott,

I checked the parts list and it appears that that snap ring is a part# 88894018. GM nomenclature is: RNG, PROP SHF TRANS FLG RR BRG RET (Outer face). Translation: Propeller shaft transmission flange
rear bearing retainer.
If you can't find one from anyone, at least you have the part number.

Happy New Year,

Robert

I would think that any decently sized industrial supply house would carry them....assuming that you have the old one to compare it to.

Going to a GM dealer probably would cost you 3X as much, and that's if they even have one on hand.

Judging by that second pic, looks like he couldn't get the pliers to say in the hole so he welded to the end.

Nope. I didn't damage the one in the picture.
It was reistalled last week.
I bought a used torque tube and the previous owner broke the snap ring. The one from my car will not fit since it's the smaller dia tube.

Thanks Robert for the part number.

88894018 is not the snap ring that the pliers are removing. It is the smaller one you can see around the output shaft in the pic above with the snap ring holes on the bottom.

Does anyone have the part # for the larger one? Mine was twisted wrestling it out. I've done a few and this one was bar far the worst.

I know this is an old topic but I tried searching and ordered the wrong part.

88894017 is the large snap ring that holds the entire driveshaft assembly inside the torque tube. I have an awesome parts guy at the local dealership in Kennesaw, GA. Should GM ever stop carrying the part the package was shipped from Unidrive Pty Ltd in Clayton Victoria Australia.
