Default memory mirrors keep moving (very little)

everytime I put the key in the car (or press '2' on memory) the mirrors move very small. they go upwards...

I get in and out of the car 20 times, the mirrors are pretty much pointing up.

anyway I can fix this? is this a known problem?

mine do the exact opposite sometimes, especially the drivers side. I'll get in close the door and the seat slides forward, I go to check the mirrors and the drivers side is looking at the ground.

yeah, they point down sometimes too.....

what do we do about this?

actually I thought it was something like when you put the car in reverse it would bring the mirrors down like the maxima... but they didn't come back up, so that wasn't it. lol

When I had this problem a few years ago, it turned out to be the motor pack(s) on the mirrors. Dealership replaced both under warranty, so not really sure if it was just one or both that were the actual cause. Two of the tabs (circled in red below) from the motor that locks on to the back of the mirror send back position information which the memory feature uses to determine position. If that is faulty (or if pegs are not fully engaged), it will make bad assumptions about where to set the position. Mine was sporadic at first and then just got worse over time. No problems since replacement.

I doubt this is the problem if your seat is also losing its mind - problem is further upstream.

I'd say it's working as it should. Its moving from a neutral to your programed position.

After pressing the unlock button on your fob or a memory button, the settings you've programed for 1, 2 or 3 will be set when the door is closed and the ignition key is in the ignition switch. If you use key #1 you'll get those settings and same for #2 key. To get #3 you need to press both memory buttons together.

Try reprogramming the system to put in the mirror position you prefer.

If it's not remembering the settings your battery is probably weak.

I have a similar problem with my 06 C6 but does not have to do with touching key or memory settings. When driving along the left mirror will slowly turn up while the right mirror turns down. Not huge amounts but annoying as have to reset the mirrors every 20 mins or so during a journey. They obviously want to be somewhere else from where I've set them but not sure why they self adjust while on the move.

My driver side mirror moves down when I unlock the car with the FOB. I want to see what it would take to replace the motors/sensors to fix this. Not sure how to find the part and instructions on how to replace them.

I replaced the door module, bought used from vettenuts and it's almost perfect.

This is a door module issue and not a position sensor issue in the side-view mirror module?
