to be honest i wasnt really sure if it was bad just assumed from what i was reading and what i was hearing when it did start, it barely turned over. but i have a brand new starter now so thats not the problem....

Trying to help, but you did not answer the question. Again, did you check for 12 volts to the purple wire when the key is turned to start? Is the starter/solenoid engaging..and the motor refusing to turn?
ill check tomorrow but it does sound like the starter is trying to start and its a lot stronger than the old starter. possibly the engine not rejecting. just the loud sound from the starter and then nothing...

Just trying to make sure you do not have a hydro-lock situation here.
i dont like the sound of that... i guess ill search that
Basically, it involves a cylinder filling with liquid....usually coolant, but it can happen with fuel too. Not saying it's your case, but it might be worth pulling the plugs, before trying to spin the engine over again.
the previous owner had this problem... ive driven weeks at a time and it started fine and some weeks are worse.. usually if i let it sit for more than over night it does it... ill try to turn the motor over with out plugs and test the purple wire.

What does rejecting mean?
When you turn the key, what exactly is happening? First you said it just clicks, then you said it makes a loud noise.
Does the starter engage the flywheel with a loud "clunk" that you can feel, and then nothing? Does the starter turn a few times and stop?
Is there just a clicking noise and no engagement of the starter?
its just a single click. it sounds like its coming from the starter. no loud clunk but a click more like. one click and thats it... im guessing since it doesnt do anything after that nor make any other sounds its not engaging with the fly wheel

It really helps if you disclose this type of information up front, so other can help you.

p.s is that purple wire on the solenoid?
yes, the purple wire is on the solenoid. What I'm trying to determine, is if the starter is actually trying to turn the motor. Checking all the connections at the starter is important, to make sure you don't have a loose battery wire on the big post. If the starter connections are good(tight, no corrosion, etc), you have 12 volts constant on the large post of the starter, and you get 12 volts to the purple wire when trying to starter, it should engage....and try to spin the motor.
All connections are on tight and I even cleaned the connections. It's making a connectiOn I know for sure, before I pulled the old starter I could still pop start it, haven't tried since though..
Makes sure you check the cables really well. It sounds like you just don't have enough voltage to turn the starter. this is a good thing compared to other possibilities. Make sure you check the ground as well. also check the connction from the battery ground to the chassis and the engine to the chassis. If any of these are corroded it can cause your problem. It would suprise me if it was anything other than a cable or battery problem. I have also seen batteries with internal problems cause this. Especially after driving around. Have it load checked
As Lucky asked you about, you need to pull the plugs and make sure there's no coolant in any of the cylinders. See if it'll turn over with them all out as opposed to now.
I'll check the ground. All the cables to and from battery and starter are clean and not corrodided. I cleaned them tightened all of them down as good as possible.
I can pop start it I believe.
I charged the battery too but no luck. I'll check the purple wire to the starter.
check the voltage at the starter with a multi meter. Use the case of the starter for your ground probe. If the Voltage falls off (I suspect it will) then you have a cable problem or a chassis ground problem. Keep in mind cables can corode and still look good from the outside. corrosion can cause a host of strange electrical problems. Make sure your engine ground is solid and not corroded. I can't tell you where it is but somewhere on this forum is a diagram of where the grounds are.
I'm pretty sure it's a ground.. I unscrewed one of the grounds and the bolt snapped off because of rust so I re drilled and put in a new ground.. I'm guess all of them are like that...
