There are quite a few posts on replacing the solenoid. I got a used one last summer from RPM Transmissions. You can get a new one through GMPartsHouse.com.
I would put a post on the forum describing the fuse problem you are having. That fuse handles several components in the drivetrain and there may be some other parts you want to check.
When does the fuse blow?

I don't have my diagrams with me so I can't look it up. I believe the fuse wire splits out using splice packs to several other switches and sensors related to telling the PCM that the car is ready to start.
My guess is that if you disconnect the reverse solenoid (it's a pain to get at but it can be disconnected), the fuse will still blow.
I won't be back until Monday evening so you may get a faster response if you post the fuse blow problem more broadly on the forum.
