I tried searching, but didn't see an answer. Do I have to remove the door panel to replace the power window/door lock switch? The rubber is torn on the existing one and I have a replacement. Don't want to break anything by just prying it out if that's not the way to do it.
Are you speaking of the large button on the emergency flasher?
Yes. I've read that you just "pop it off", but, experience has taught me that things don't always just "pop off" any ol' way you try to "pop" them.
What I want to do, is use the "drill the hole and spray in the contact cleaner" method mentioned on the CF for my intermittent turn signal gremlin. Of course I don't want to break anything in the process.

I agree with you that the description of "popping" something off is usually pretty vague and can lead to broken parts, etc.
I'm not familiar with anything involving spraying into the emergency flasher switch assembly and further, if I were having turn signal issues and I suspected dirty contacts/high resistance, etc, I would be looking at removing and repairing or replacing the turn signal switch assembly itself. Btw, not sure if you're aware but, the turn signal switch assembly can be R&R'd without removing the steering wheel. I can't recall right off, but I think that procedure is one of the ones outlined by Bill Curlee and maybe a search or PM might find more info. If I recall, it may be possible to clean the internal switch contacts inside.
As far as the emergency flasher button itself, I haven't had occasion to remove one myself, but I do know they are removable. Maybe someone can post up the procedure. I'm thinking it can't be too difficult.

Edit: Did quick check. See the C5 Tech stickies at the top of the page. There is a good writeup, with pictures, by forum member "MIKER" with good info.
