I was offered an LS6 intake installed for $500 flat by a local shop. The car turned 362hp and 355tq with shorty headers
LoudMouth, Vortex, after market Cam and stock heads. Question: will the LS6 intake give me any considerable HP gains
with my current mods and if so, what!!! Is it worth it!!! Please help, this is a limited time offer. :D :D
 Wow, your head/cam job must have been begging for air. From what I read, the LS6 manifold is only a must do mod after a head/cam job.[/QUOTE]
I believe so. The car was running fairly rich before we did the intake, so I believe that the intake balanced the air/fuel ratio substantially. After doing the dyno at The Vette Doctors, Carmen told me not to do a thing to the car, that it was the strongest running heads/cam car with an A4 tranny that he has done.

I gained 7-8 rhp after a direct swap and before and after dyno runs. You might get more due to cam and I tested directly after the swap thus no computer learning was done.
Other than some ponies gained, what you will feel with the LS-6 intake is increased and better throttle response in a car with stock heads and cam. I had this mod done last week and can't believe how sharp the throttle is now. With just your average bolt-ons, 6th gear feels very much like 5th!
I read in a post the other day that the 01-02 Ls1 and Ls6 intakes are the same... is this true? I saw this in the 4sale section where L.A.P.D replied to some one. Let me know...
I too installed one last week "with a set of headers" and can say the delivery of power is much smoother and responsive (3500-5500RPM). I did dyno and got some interesting numbers....an improvement to the previous baseline as follows: 18 RWHP (334HP) and 14 Ft/ Lbs. of Peak Torque (344)..got 18-20 Ft. Lbs at 4-5500 RPM! Mine is a bsically stock motor. While this gain is not all the credit of the intake, it isn't bad for a bolt-on kind of thing. Will test these numbers at the next Challenge. BTW got my '02 Z06 Intake from SLP for $399. and the headers were FLP's (one of the first 25 for $1299.). Took 4 hrs. for both installs.

We dynoed the LS6 manifold on a 2000 car and the gains were real. The customer had a Donaldson Blackwing and Borla exhuast for mods. The swap yielded 17hp and 13lbs of torque to the rear wheels. Not too bad! Driveability and response is better too!

 I would definatly place that increase in the unique catagory.

Sorry about being a "Doubting Thomas" but if a 2000 is able to get that much of a gain then why do the 2001 LS1's only have a 5 hp gain when all 2001's have this intake from the factory? The 2000 LS1 is rated at 345 hp and the 2001-2002 are rated at 350 HP. What accounts for this difference? I can understand a modified car breathing better with the better intake, but only an intake mod and exhaust mod showing such gains is surprising...
I too am curious about an LS6 intake. But to chime in on the question of why the 2001 only gains 5 hp from it and Nate's test vehicle gained nearly 17 hp from it might I suggest that the pairing of the LS6 intake along with the Donaldson Blackwing might yield greater results than the pairing of the LS6 intake and the factory air box. Just a suggestion. \
Also I'm sure the Borla exhaust might have helped a little. Just clearing out the bottle necks in the flow of things.
