Wheel Sensor Batteries

I've searched and can't find any info...I remember posts about them but apparently they are lost in cyberspace.....Anyway...Can they be changed and where other than my friendly GM dealer can I get the batteries.We are going to change out some wheels on a 30k mile car and if they can be changed...Now is the time to do it...Any info greatly appreciated.

The batteries cannot be changed, you need to replace the entire sensor. The dealer is the only place that I know of to purchase the sensors. I think that they run about $100 dollars each.

I'm pretty sure there are no batteries in the sensors, I think they get their power from the rotation of the wheels. Not sure exactly how.

The sensor has a 4 volt lithium battery (i cut one open ;) ) that can not be serviced :nonod:

Thanks...I kind of thought they were "Potted" in....I just wanted to check in the hope I was wrong........

The video that came with the 97 Press Release Kit indicates the sensors are designed to last 8 years. I suspect they are under-rated and will probably last much longer.
