I plan on putting a yank 3200 tq in my 03 vette, but can't do diff change from 2:73 to a 3:42 right now will i see an improvement in quickness or must i do diff at same time?
Why do you relate the torque converter change with a rear end change? The cam shaft is what you would want to consider when looking at stall speeds (less so in these cars vs older vehicles).
The 3200 stall will allow for harder launches with the 2.73's and will feel even better once you swap to 3.42's
Of course you will !!!! a 3200 stall will work great---even with a 2.73 gear
going from a 2.73 to a 3.42 wil also help with your launch but not as much as the stall---however going from a 3.15 to a 3.42 won't show much improvement at all---I did this mod and was disappointed with the results les than 1/10 in the 1/4
PS make sure you ADD a tranny cooler !!!!! higher stalls create a lot of heat and a cooler is always recc.---You can try withot one but keep an eye on the trans temp--best is not get continually run it over 200-205*
Thanks everyone I am definitely going with the stall and will do the diff change later this summer i am already cammed and tuned to about 390 hp and 386 tq at rear wheel if I remember the numbers correctly but the hp is correct
