Default Need TPSM help or guidance

I just bought a 97 C5 and the diagnostic center says the TPSM needs service. I was hoping to bypass or shut this off but have been told either fix or put up with the message. Its annoying so I need to fix it. From what I have read the batteries seem to be a problem and can be replaced on this year. What I need is input with anyone who has dealt with this. Is it easy to change the batteries and has that been the problem most of the time? Or should i just replace the whole sensor? Either way is there some who supports this forum a vendor(s) that offer realistic prices on the parts? Any help would be appreciated.

Forum member Corvette Don will replace them for you. Or you can buy new ones www.gmpartshouse.com

If I were you I would first try to resync them to see if they work. When I bought my 99 this summer, I had the same issue, took a speaker magnet and went around and resync'd the sensors. They still work at this time. Easy to check and a lot cheaper if it works, if not they can be rebuilt as stated above or new ones, which are expensive.

Thanks to the both of you for the advice. Will try the resync first, nothing to lose there.

You might try Dorman to see if they sell them, I know they have them for the later C5's.

My buddy did my 98 TPMS with new batteries and they worked until and after I sold the car.
