Help rear differential columbus ohio
Does anyone know a competent person in Columbus Ohio that could rebuild my diff? Dose not have to be a “shop” could be you in your garage. I have a 2.73 and want to upgrade to a 3.42 maybe with C6 internals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks for looking.
You want to have fun with local forum members in your area? Pull the diff out, send it to RPM. Then, you & friends put the replacement back in.
Not that big of a job for one person to do, even for the very first time attempting.
Ask me how I know.
Good luck.

With these diffs I cant be the only one here in Columbus Ohio who has this issue maybe we can do a group build up and get a discount on parts etc not a bad Idea.
If you become an accomplished C/5, C/6 differential rebuilder, you'll have owners coming from miles around to have you do theirs.
You'll be an instant millionary

Look there for an inexpensive one. That said,,, even having the tool, doesn't make you a C5/C6 rear end pro. You have to first master the tool. Then have the dial indicators, know how to read and interpret them and "have the proper bearing race shims to set up the whole thing and a press to get the bearing races out with out destroying them or tap them out very carefully. The rest is easy!

If you read the two articles, you will find a couple of statements referring to having to assemble and disassemble the rear numerous times to get the clearances spot on. Other wise, you will have a pile of junk.
I'll stick for the easy stuff till I find a rear I can experiment with.
Hey, get the tool and give it hell! You can always contact RAGTOPWS6 for pointers. Hes a hell of a guy and most likely give you any info and pointers that you need to get the job done.
