Default Toluene - Where to buy in North Dallas?

I read through the Toluene topic that was active a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a try in an effor to reduce some high rpm pinging that I'm getting.

I've tried the usual places like Lowes, Home Depot and a couple of local hardware stores but no one seems to have it.

Can anyone tell me the best place place to pick it up in the North Dallas/Plano area?

Thanks.

Everett

EBS, I had a heck of a time finding Acetone a few years back, needed it to keep epoxy from sticking to my fingers.........
I finally found it at Hobby Lobby..................of ALL places
They MAY have it......try there..............
It is a very haz mat item, so it may be a very hard item to get hold of.......

thanks guys.

I went to the local Sherwin Williams store on the way home and bought two gallons at about $8.50/gallon. I'm going to keep looking for a place that has it for less money though.

I added a gallon to my tank this evening. According to my calculations, it will raise the octane level from 93 to just over 94.

I don't want to go crazy with the stuff, I just want to eliminate the pinging. How much do you typically use in your cars?

FYI, I do recall that this stuff will clean all the crap out of your fuel system. We used to change the fuel filters after running a few gallons through the car.

Hey buddy...

My best luck has been at paint stores. I buy mine at Sherwin-Williams. They order about four gallons a week for me. I put three gallons to about 13-15 gallons of 93 octane. Be sure to get a long funnel and a knife to cut a hole in the can so the crap flows well or it will end up all over the place. Any paint store should be able to order it by the gallons...it is about $6-$7/gallon. I have heard of people using Xylene too...although not as much, this seems to be easier to find. I have used that product too without problems but prefer Toluene since that's what most people talk about. I notice a difference in response with both.

Branden.
