whistling noise/engine compartment
Anyone ever have a sudden whistling noise in the engine compartment?It happened at about 2000-2200 RPM.Never heard it before nor after.It's driving me crasy because I will be taking off on a extended trip in a couple months and I really don't want any surprises on the way.Any info will be greatly appreciated.I did a search and didn't get anything that I know of.

Is it strictly rpm related or is there a speed aspect?
What modifications or repairs have you done recently?
I can think of several different things to cause varying types of whistles but I'm not writing a book; more details are needed.

I checked under the hood and could not find anything.It just happened at the rpm I mentioned before.Like I said it just happened and I pulled over right away and popped the hood and by that time it was gone.I was thinking that maybe this had happened to someone else and that they might have an answere.It just didn't give me enough time to check it out.Thanks for the response.It hasn't happened since.The vette is a 2001 bone stock,auto
