Default 2004 GTO engine for parts?

I have the opportunity to buy a engine out of a 2004 gto that the local dealership replaced because of excessive metal in the oil. It has 243 heads, my question is would it have a ls6 intake and block? If it does have a ls6 intake is it the same as a covette intake. This engine also has a texas speeds cam in it I will find out which one today.

Ls2 block and heads. If they are replacing, why are you buying? Better find out the cause of metal in oil before squezzing that trigger.

I thougth 243 heads were ls6 heads? and I'm buying it for parts and the intake provided it is a ls6 intake? Trust me it is cheap. Also this motor has been torn down and My friend that works there said the cam looked perfect he figured it was bearing material but said even they looked ok.

I thought all the 04 GTO's were 350 hp ls1 engines. The 400 hp rating didn't show up until 05 right?

243's could be LS6 or LS2, just different valves. If it's a screaming deal...buy it......

I would say 325 is a pretty good deal. So are the heads not factory to the car? If not I would guess that they have work done to them I know I was told they do not have factory springs or pushrods. What intake would this car come with an ls2?

My friend said that the reson they are putting in a crate motor and trans is because they took the car in on trade and it turned out to have a cooked clutch and some metallic in the oil and the dealer does not want to sell a non stock car.

The heads alone are worth that.

So if it is an ls2 intake would that be worth putting on my ls1?

For $325 I'd buy it, the block is worth that...
