Anyone with longtubes have any experience? maybe some sort of heat-shield needs to be used? Thanks

So far with the XSpower headers the side of the #3 boot is about 1/8" away from the tube. I'll probably try it, it's right at the end of the boot. But then I might grab some sleeving and cover it before I start driving. The problem is the sleeving will touch and the heat might transfer better when it's touching and still melt it.

Not sure on the passenger side since I only quickly bolted it up and found the AC line touching before I dropped it again to re-install the starter. I put a clamp on the frame to the hard line coming from the compressor and pulled it over so the A/C line is harder against the frame and that gave it a little clearance.

I haven't heard of too many problems from the heat coming of headers. You can always get the headers ceramic coated. this is what I did.

FYI to anyone here. Go to your UserCP, click the Edit Ignore List from the items on the left and just add the idiots you want to block there. imavettegirl has managed to be the second member here I've blocked.

Forgot to add that I bought a really nice set of wire protectors and this has solved my heat issues so far (1yr+).

its a good idea to shield you starter anyway, I had my headers coated but still made a shield as its even worse with RHD with booster etc all going over to the right side leaves little room.

you can also get fiberglass insulation like this to wrap around anything you please to protect from heat.
