FOB & trunk unlatching issue

So my trunk will only pop open with the FOB if the FOB is right by the gas filler door. Will not work anywhere else, back, front, passenger side, etc. Put a new battery in it last night and synched it up and still the exact same problem. Does this with both FOB's. Thoughts?

The RF (Controller) is located by the gas tank. My bet is your RF controller is going bad.

Would that also explain why my doors like to unlock/lock on there own sometimes? Anyone know a way to test if this is really the problem?

Probably have the passive switch set to "on"......check your FOB.

I can guarantee that the FOB isn't set to the passive mode, looking at it right now. I used it for about 1 week when I first got the car and didn't like it so have had it off since then.
