On a trip to California, my 01 MN6 coupe got smacked with a tire tread ejected off of a semi in a rain storm.
What compounds are there to repair the SMC?
I have a small gouge, and at the primary point of impact, the fibers are exposed on the fender and the rocker panel where the door meets them.
it is more than a small gouge. it is a splintering of the surface about 3/4 of the way through the material.
In addition to the splintering, there is a small gouge about 2 inches away from the initial impact. That is where the spot putty might work just fine.

I have used, with great success, permatex Permapoxy. Part number 84115. You can get it at advance auto parts. Walmart also sells it under a different brand name. It is a two part epoxy and works well, is sandable and can be used with glass cloth or without. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!!
