depending on how old itis it will probably run better with new plugs and wires even if you haven't reached the recommended mileage in the owners manual.... time seems to take a toll as well as distance...it's cheap to do

Depends on how it's being used. I generally hook up a scantool and read the Long Term Fuel Trims on both banks, if there's more than 5% variation between banks I do the following:

Seafoam the engine via the intake manifold, run the car to blow it out
plugs
wires (GM red wires)
injector clean & flowbench
oil change

Good luck!

I always change my plugs and wires at 50,000 miles. It has always worked for me. I drive my vehicles for several hundred thousand miles or until the wife totals them. I have driven a Nissan and a Toyota until the body rusted off (less than 200,000 miles). I don't mind driving a junker back and forth to work. There is so much stuff blowing out of the Grain Elevators to the south of our parking lot it doesn't pay to drive anything nice.
