Default small trans leak should i worry?

I have a new to me 99(a4) with 123k miles lately ive noticed a few drops of red fluid (looks like tranny fluid) under the center of the car kinda around the pan . Ive seen maybe 2-4 drops a day (sometimes none) for a week now but it only drips after cool down not while driving or even at idle. The trans acts normally no slipping, clunking, hesitation etc. I put a little cardboard under the car and notice the drops make a square pattern(if that help). Should I be worried. I want some opinions before making an apointment to the shop. thanks To those who chime in

Absolutely not. Just let it drip. You really don't need to worry, until the car won't move in gear.......then take it to the shop.

First, congrats on your new to you C5. Generally no leak is good since there is a finite amount of fluid in these things and once it's leaked enough, damage to your trans is likely. If you are not equipped or prepared to investigate the leak yourself, yes, do take it to a shop as soon as possible.

How do you know it isn't leaking while driving? It most likely is when under pressure. I had similar problem with my 87. Fluid gathers around edge of pan and drips when parked. I would at least get it looked at. Maybe just a gasket.

Check the transmission pan bolts for tightness. The torque specification is 7-10 lb ft.
