Hello everyone,
I am finally getting around to installing the quick connect set up for my battery tender and I was wondering where everyone is putting the connectors.
The ring terminals don't really fit into the side post terminal so I had to pass on that route. The ring terminals were interfering with the post screws. I didn't like the fit. I was thinking that I would mount the positive ring terminal to the B+(battery positive I am assuming) right next to the fuse box. Is that safe?
As for the ground, is there a good place nearby for that one. I thought about unbolting one of the screws for the hood latch and putting the ground in that one. Any thoughts?

The B+ is a perfect hook up for the positive connection. For the negative, look straight down from the negative battery terminal connection to the frame rail, you will see a ground connection bolt that is connected to the frame rail (probably has one/two wires connected to it. The battery/fuse box compartment side wall may be shielding it with a mounting tab pressed onto the post. You can lift that plastic side wall up and you will see the stud with a nut securing a ground to the frame rail. Find a nut that fits that threaded stud properly and mount your negative connector there.
I replaced the bolts in the battery cables with the kind that have an additional screw on the end for attaching stereo cables etc. It fits right through the ring terminal with no modification.
Do what rwlc5 said--get the special bolts with threaded posts to fit your ring terminals and replace the factory ones. It makes a neat installation without possibly compromising the integrity of your terminals-to-battery attachments.
My Autozone had real nice gold-plated bolts w/posts in their battery section. I did find, however, that with those particular bolts I had to slightly modify the red and black "boots" so that the new bolts could be tightened down--had to cut a little 'ring' of rubber out of the center of each(not visible from outside).
Another similar installation I did for a friend on his C5 did not need modification of the boots, but as he supplied the bolts I do not know where he obtained them. I liked the gold-plated bolts better anyway.
On my car, using the ring-terminal adapter for a Battery Tender, I was able to run the adapter plug through a hole in the body up to where it will lie in the channel below the rear of the hood, enabling me to only have to pop the hood for access. I reach down into the channel with my fingers and pull the plug out without having to raise the hood.

I ran mine out the side "gil" (?) Originally out the left side which was fairly easy, now its in the right side which was harder. I used a large zip tie as a snake.
