I just ordered the PAC 1518, which is rated to .650. But I don't think you would want to use a spring at it's limit. If you're running a .650 cam, you should look for a spring rated to at least .675 or more.

Who did you get them from ??

The reason I'm asking is that I read that .650 beehive springs would better serve an after market cam than valve springs like Precision Race Component springs. The cam I'll be installing is an EG Whiplash cam.

I've PM'd a question the EG since the Whiplash cam is their design to see which springs they'd recommend.

Do you have the specs of the cam in question? If running a beehive spring with high lift and/or aggressive lobes we'd really need to know more to make sure you got the absolute best spring for your application. The PAC may fit the bill great, and if not there are still options for a beehive.

I run a decently aggressive 238/247 .640/.610 cam in my 347 with single beehive springs, but I opted to step up to the Manley Nextek 221438-16. They are $280 a set and can use factory seals/seats/retainers like the PAC. After sitting down and checking seat pressures on new single beehives within the range I would be using them I preferred the Manley for my particular application.

What you need will vary depending on the cam specs. Let me know if you can get more info and I'll be glad to help point you in the right direction.

Singles are a great option and when chosen correctly they are very safe. I prefer them in my personal car, they are much more quiet than a dual spring and not that it's a big deal in my application but they are much more lightweight. I also run Ti retainers with mine.

I'm going to install the original Englad Green "Whiplash" cam. I can't give you the specs as they won't disclose their cam specs....
