Well, he is right. Pulling the motor for a cam swap and headers is dumb.
While I agree with you, I was pretty shocked to find this book says the exact opposite:
In fact it went as far to say that it's almost impossible to do so without pulling the motor. I guess what I'm trying to say is I wouldn't fault anyone for thinking the motor should be pulled for this job when there are publications claiming it's the only way to do it.
I said coming off like an a hole. Different. You do seem to be on the offensive side when I read your posts. Maybe it is just me. Ok that's all I'm going to say about this. You are welcome to chime in on any of my threads anytime. Just be happy. Thanks to all
Lucky has been on here a long time and has a tremendous amount of knowledge of Corvettes. He OFTEN is ignored when he is providing 100% spot on advice, so over time it's natural to get an attitude. He speaks his mind and some people take it the wrong way. I can tell you that over the years, answering the same question over and over does get tiring.
Some of us have actually pulled a C5 Corvette motor, yet probably more than half of your responses came from people who can barely change their own oil.

You're adding hours of work by pulling the motor to swap a cam..OR a clutch.

he asked for help.... I HAVE done the engine out both top and bottom.. I dont have a lift at home so its out the top just offering up How I did it Good luck..JOHN
I think this has gone on long enough. I will be doing it all the conventional way. I'm starting tomorrow. Can't wait! Thanks to EVERYONE who offered help.
I wouldnt. Though I can understand your line of thought
I can do a clutch in a day easily(lots of practice on that one....).
Headers is a half a day job.(and you'll have the midpipe out for clutch anyway)
Cam is a day long job.
You are looking at 2-4 days work at a liesurely pace in a garage with no lift and the right tools. None of these jobs is really that complicated with the engine in the car. I dont think you'd save any time or effort by pulling the engine. I think if anything it may introduce opportunities for extra things to go wrong.
