I have H/C on a 383 stroker short block, 1 7/8 LTs, non catted 3" all the way to the back installed in a week or so and want an more aggressive sounding exhaust. I have B&B route 66s now. I am looking for some feedback from anyone running the LG BIG 3, is there drone, how do you like the tone etc.
Thanks
I run the Big 3 on my 427. Good sounding exhaust with a drone point around 1400 RPM. It passes by 1500 RPM on my car. I doubt I'd run it with an A4. I run hi-flow cats with ARH 1 7/8 LT's and 3 inch X-pipe. THey were a little tricky to fit with the ECS tranny brace but my exhaust guy is very good. The clamps leave a LOT to be desired though. He ended up replacing those.
I had Big 3 mufflers, They are loud and had an annoying drone around 1600 rpm, changed back to Ti mufflers happy with them and no sacrifice in power as measured on the dyno
Drone under 1600 rpm (I have 3.90's so it's ok in 6th after 60 mph or so). They are way quieter than my old stingers though and after the drone point is past it almost gets quiet so I can enjoy the musit on the highway. The clamps do suck though. Power gains depend on your current power level.

Exact same story here. Just put mine on last night to replace my stingers. They resonate between 50 and 60mph in 6th with my 3.90's, but they're much quieter than the Stingers.
Same setup as OP, 383 with heads/healthy cam, 1 7/8 ARH's, catless X. Managed to squeeze them around my DTE brace.
The clamps suck something fierce, but if you pull the bolt out and knock the middle spacer piece between the bands off they work pretty well (it will make sense if you have one in front of you).
Thats weird as I also have a agressive 383 I never did dyno with this exhaust vs the stingers. I welded a good portion of my x pipe and exhaust and used different clamp bolts.

I have the big 3 on my car. The drone is bearable. It can be eliminated with a downshift. A trip to my tuner also helped. They did not fit well either. The 2 piece pipe over the axle was made from 5 different short sections and then bent to shape. Never could get them positioned right. I wanted a complete LG exhaust. After 8 weeks, all I had was mufflers. The reason I kept them is they were the only ones I could find with a 3" inlet. The rest of the exhaust is from Kooks.

Same thing I did, I did not like the drone from stop light to stop light or at highway speeds
It was great at first but after the first long drive and cruise the TI's went back on and I still make 701 RWHP with TI's
I would stay with the B&B bullets or just go with a straight pipe if you want super aggressive - a buddy of mine di this and he likes it a lot! Not for me though
