Default Horn miraculously fixed

Hello All,
my horn went on a screaming frenzy a while ago and I simply pulled the fuse to shut it up. Well, today I took the time to do the membrane fix but once I got the membrane out it tested out to be good. I did continuity checks on both sides of the membrane. I put the horn back together and tested it in the car. It works fine but I'm wonder if the horn will wake me up at 3:00 AM tonight. Has anybody had this happen to them and if so what was the reason it started blowing out of control?

I did not have experience with a membrane that was tested. Mine did seem to fix itself only to have the problem return with a passion ...Cold weather was my cause and effect for a shorted horn switch but to repair I replaced the membrane not worth the time involved not to replace the entire membrane for 60.00

Things just don't fix themselves. It'll be back when you least expect it.

A schematic and a meter would have told the story, without removing the horn switch. Rest assured, it will be back.

Yeah, I expect it to return. I just hope I'm home when it happens. I'd hate to kill the battery while I'm at work and annoy the neighbors at the same time.

I had the exact same problem I pressed the alarm as I was walking into my home and the horn just stayed on I freaked out I disconnected the battery waited a couple of seconds and reconnected it and it stayed on. I then proceeded to remove the fuse which didn't work either. I assumed the horn was making contact so I go inside the car pressed the horn a couple of times with the battery disconnect and it has not happen ever since.

Just fix it is easier said than done when it's an intermittent problem. Besides, I have to wait until the weekend to get in-depth with troubleshooting. Thanks All for the input. When I come up with a permanent fix I'll be sure to pass it on.
