Default replace exhaust manifold/header bolts?

I am just getting everything lined up to install my headers. I have searched and can not find the answer...do I need to replace the header bolts? my car has 55k miles on it. sorry if this has been answered a bunch of of times.

Not unless you break one They arent torque to yield like the Head bolts.

You will be fine using the old exhaust bolts.
Make sure the threads are cleaned real good & add anti sieze to the threads before re installing again.

I "THINK" that the torque value is 18 ft/lbs but make sure that you check and torque them to the correct value.

I have changed many manifolds/headers and have never had an issue with the exhaust manifold/header bolts.

LOL I would have spent a fortune if I had to replace them everytime I dropped the headers to work on the driveline my 98

Bill, the instructions from Dynatech say "approximately 15 ft/lb" which is kind of funny to me. either way, 18 is close enough good memory you have.

MawneeC5 that's either good or bad...either your putting newer and better parts on or you keep breaking stuff

Yes to both.

Upgrade driveline, then add power until I exceed driveline. Rinse repeat rinse repeat rinse repeat rinse repeat........ I still have dead clutches and broken torque tube parts collecting dust all over my garage
