Default Melling oil pump help

Ok I'm trying to install my Melling high volume oil pump but there are 2 different sized o rings for the pickup tube and I tried both but neither fit flush, I'm afraid to push on them too hard because of all the print problems please help

The GREEN O ring is the one that you want to use. Oil it up, install it on the pick up tube and allow it to slip in the pump. Heres an example of how the O ring fits in the pump:

If the pick up tube flange fits FLAT on the pump flange and NO O ring material is being extruded, your fine.

Bill your my hero. I've been fighting to get the pickup tube to sit flush with the pump housing and it keep kicking out at an angle once I torque the screw down. Having a better understanding how how things mesh together your photo is invaluable!

The green O-ring is larger (thicker) than the stock one.
From the info I found over on the LS site, the green one is for trucks.

Of course I just finished mine up, installed the balancer and now I read this.

I will say that the assembly with the black O-ring hardly fell together. It felt correct to me.

I wish I would have taken the blue pill.............
