The contacts for the relay was the inboard most forward contact as you just indicated, but this is contact 86 not 85. I got this info from the bottom of the relay. I wasn't able to see your pictures or anyone elses either. I don't know if its something that I am not view correctly or not. Tried two different computers.

The relay sockets are like this:
87 86

85 30
forward -->

Does this match what you think?

Thanks again for your assistance.
I see. That's why a prefaced my suggestions by saying "using the pic above" in my post. As I described, the location of the ground is correct. I noted in your post, that you said they were backwards....which concerned me, as I do not like giving wrong information. I wish I had known you could not see the picture.

I tried to avoid confusion, by posting a picture for reference. The relay can be inserted two ways, because contacts 85 & 86 are diagonal from each other, as are 30 & 87. So going by the bottom of the relay, depending on which way you insert it (into the socket), would be your point of reference for ground being at 85 or 86.

I thought by posting directions, and a picture with corresponding numbers, it would have made it simple, but I should have provided more info. Sorry for the confusion.

Don't be sorry at all. Your info was very helpful and I was able to figure it out pretty easily, at least for the relay part. For the ground, I looked all for it and finally found it as I was draining the tank for removal. I think I know what happened. I had warrantee work done from when I first bought the car in January. I had a very slight leak on the rear axil seal LH side. I noticed that this same ground is in a harness that goes to the differential. They probably loosened up this ground and forgot to tighten it.

Different question, can you patch or plug a a run flat tire? While under the car I noticed a small nail in one of my tires. It is in the read area so not a side wall issue.
