Talk to Chuck @ COW..he KNOWS how to tune an auto trans. Many of us are very happy with our COW tunes and free re-tunes are nice after minor mods

No need to go to Carisle or anywhere else to get a performance tune on your A4. Contact the performance center at Grabiak Chevrolet in New Alexandria. They do the performance tune. Cost is $300, only takes half hour or so. I had mine done there. I have a '99 with the
A4 tranny and std 2.73 gears. I also have a Blackwing air intake and Magnaflow exhaust. The tune sure wakes it up. Shifts much firmer, but most of all takes away the torque management issue. Also runs cooler. Car is noticeably quicker off the line. My next step is 3.42 gears.
I agree 100% Chuck's transmission tune is the best. You will be very happy with the results. Call Chuck at Corvettes Of Westchester and discuss you goals.
If it were me, I would install a Vararam, drive to his shop and let him do a full tune on it. You will have different car!
I drive to his shop from CT, so, it worth the trip. He also has something called AUTOCAL that allows you to tune by data logging the car and sending Chuck the data log file. He will recalibrate/Tune your PCM and you just up load the tune file into the car.
Give chuck a call and see whats up.

This is also VERY cool. Most tuners seem to like to use HP tuners more...some have both softwares(just like Chuck does).
But if you don't know how to use them, the autocal makes using EFIlive a no brainer imo.
This will allow you to DATA LOG then email your "stats" to Chuck(who is a pro and has seen probably thousands of LS1 tunes) and allow him to "fine tune"/adjust your tune to be just right.
He can then email the updated tune file back to you, upload into your car and go drive.
Then data log/email file to Chuck again to make SURE that all is perfect. It's really the absolute best way to tune your car if you don't have access to a dyno with a RECOMMENDED LS1/A4 tuner OR want to learn how to tune/purchase the 500 dollar software and wide-band to make it all work perfect.
Contact the performance center at Grabiak Chevrolet in New Alexnadria. They do the performance tune. Cost $300, well worth it. I have a "99 Auto and had mine done there. Big difference in off line performance. Takes away torque management and gives firmer shifts.
